Zafferano di Rosso
Daniel Fida has made a virtue out of necessity: given that cultivable space in Liguria, especially on the heights of Genoa, is scarce, why not concentrate on crops that require little land but can become quality products?
So in the beginning it was the cultivation of saffron in Piane di Rosso (a hamlet in the village of Davagna) and then over the years production expanded to other spices and aromatic and wild herbs, particularly those typical of the Genoa area: Daniel's inventiveness, which enabled him to re-imagine cultivation in territories that were losing this tradition, is the same that then pushed him to create innovative products for the local market such as the Genoese agricultural curry (a mixture inspired by Indian masala but with local raw materials cultivated by Daniel himself) and to collaborate with other Ligurian gastronomic artisans.
